Greetings!

The following are a list of things you may or may not see in any particular sim and some possible ways in which you could respond to those things. As stated previously, these responses are not all inclusive and other ways to respond still exist but the ones provided will give you an idea.

Fleet Admiral Kirk hails USS Equinox and requests the Equinox to proceed to Bajor at best possible speed.

Response: First the officer current handling Tactical also handles communications and therefore should inform the officer currently in charge of the bridge of this message from the Admiral. Secondly, it can be assumed that an order to comply with the request has been given and therefore helm should lay in a course.

Tactical: Sir, we are recieving a message from Fleet Admiral Kirk
Helm: Aye sir setting course for Bajor at maximum warp.

The Commanding Officer during an IRC Live sim requests attention

Response: Players should reply with attention and remain quiet for the Commanding Officer to deliver the briefing and post assignments. Players can start "talking" after the Commanding Officer has announced SIM Start or some variation of it. Players are asked not to "talk" during the briefing and post assignments because it cut down on confusion during IRC sims.

During game play the Commanding Officer and/or Executive Officer may private message you with courses of action. This may especially happen to those people in Tactical, Science, and Engineering positions. In any event, players are expected to follow these requests. If your position is a support position, you should involve your department head if at all possible.

Abril sends a private message to LtEngineering officer stating that the primary sensor array is offline and needs repair. LtCmdr CE is the Chief Engineer.

Response:

Abril: (Throught private message to LtEngineering officer) The primary sensor array is offline
LtEngineering officer: LtCmdr CE the primary sensor array is offline
LtCmdr CE: +tap+ Bridge, the primary sensor array is offline.
